Before Lola fever hits: I didn’t watch this as much as I bled it. Good to see Dick Goddard still alive & kickin’.
After years of pressure from family & friends, I’ve finally joined a social network.
After a few initial hiccups, the house residing is complete as-of this weekend. House refinance is scheduled to close in a week also. Lots of big-ticket items finishing up lately.
We got the ball rolling today on two big projects–refinancing and residing the house. For each, we interviewed at least four prospective partners, be they lenders for the refinance or contractors for the residing. Then, to hammer home the title cliche, I took apart & fixed an issue with the dishwasher. And had clams for every meal for the past 24 hours, which is fine by me.
Hit Long Beach, WA for some family beach house time and clam digging. It was a great weekend! We arrived late Friday and Monica welcomed us in. On Saturday we had a few visitors from Arlington (Aunt Carol, and cousins Kathy & Kim) swing by for a little visit.
We had great weather for a clamdig Sat afternoon. The clams turned out to be scarce, but J got his full limit (15) and helped our nephew JT get close to a limit. Dad, mom, Monica and I didnt do as well. Grandma made some amazing fried clams for dinner.
Storm started coming in on Sunday. It was perfect kite weather. We took out the kite and took turns doing tricks and getting pulled down the beach. J and JT spent a good two hours honing their skills. Evening brought in high winds… we stayed inside and played ‘Oh Hell’ until late. J won both rounds…
We celebrated our first Anniversary this weekend. J arranged a fabulous evening at The Herb Farm restaurant. 9 courses of exquisitely prepared dishes- all following the theme of “A Taste of Trees.”. I didn’t get pictures of everything, but below are a few.
We had a chance to take a break during dinner to feed their potbellied pigs! So cute….and hungry.
Tonight (our official anniversary) we made French Onion soup, a side salad with shrimp and ended dinner with a mini replica of our wedding cake.
What a great year it has been!….. and here’s to many more!!!
